Town responds to shooting

Emily Elizabeth Todd was found shot and killed on Sunday morning, December 9, in Bridgeport. The Bethel resident was 25 years old and worked at Saint John Paul II Center as a dedicated therapeutic recreation assistant.

In response to the shooting, her family has asked that donations be made to either Island Commons or the Connecticut chapter of Moms Demand Action, a national anti-gun-violence organization.

And Bethel has responded. In the first 2 days since the request, over $2,000 has been donated by over 40 individuals and families.

Local television have crews reported on extensive lines at the Bethel Funeral Home for Miss Todd's service on Friday, and Community Gazette staff have counted social media posts in the hundreds in tribute to Miss Todd. Donations can be made in Miss Todd's honor at or to
