School Budget Preview

Bethel Superintendent of Schools Dr. Christine Carver, Ed. D., will be presenting the Proposed 2019-2020 Education Budget to the Bethel Board of Education on Thursday, January 24th at 7:00 p.m. in the Board of Education Conference Room at the Municipal Center.

The public is encouraged to attend the presentation.

Art Competition Winners Displayed

Congratulations go out to the following student artists from Bethel High School for winning awards in the highly competitive CT Scholastic ART Awards.

Their work is on display at the Silpe Gallery at the Hartford Art School:

Seniors: Jamie Breeland's painting - "Step Down" - Honorable Mention

Lorennah Granfor's three paintings - "Down Memory Lane: The Coast of Maine" - Gold Key, "Wack" - Honorable Mention, and "You Button Head!" - Silver Key

Megan Greene's ceramics - "Order & Chaos" - Honorable Mention

Thomas Conlin's ceramics - "New York Bakery" - Gold Key

Sophomore: Teddi Ferraro's photography - "She Cried Glitter" - Honorable Mention.

Congratulations also go out to the students from Bethel Middle School who had their art selected for the prestigious CT Scholastic Awards:Ella Burns-DeMelo honorable mention for her carved soapstone and copper necklace

Petra Cirella honorable mention for her carved necklace.

Brooke Clay silver medal for her pastel painting.

Lana Schneider silver medal for her mixed media portrait.

Corey Magro gold medal for his layered carved print.

Louis Bretti gold medal for his mixed media necklace.

Corey and Louis now advance to the national level.

Pre-school Screenings Offered

Parents concerned that their 3 to 5 year old might be experiencing difficulties or delays with talking, play skills, problem solving or making their needs known are encouraged to participate in a Circle of Friends screening. he preschool team includes the Supervisor of Special Education, Preschool Special Education Teachers, Speech Language Pathologist, Occupational Therapist, Physical Therapist and School Social Worker.

Screening dates Wednesdays from 10:00-10:45: January 16, February 27, March 27, April 24, May 29.
