Passersby Put Out Car Fire

Fire Control Service employees Ryan Delaney and Brandon Conn, along with Bethel firefighter Zach Britton, came upon a car accident on Route 6 early Wednesday, January 16 and discovered one of the vehicles had caught fire. Their quick action put out the fire as Bethel Fire Department volunteers and equipment were en route to the scene.

Engine 3, Ambulance 3 and Medic 645 and Ambulance 1 responded to the accident. Two patients were transported to Danbury Hospital.

A number of the public have called for changes to the location of the accident, including calls for a traffic light.

The car fire was put out using Fire Control Service extinguishers used by the company's employees when they came upon the accident.

Fire Control Service sells and services fire extinguishers, as well as industrial fire suppression systems, and restaurant exhaust hood fire systems. They also install residential and commercial burglar and fire alarm systems. They are located in New Milford, CT.
