Town Mourns Firefighter's Passing

Ira B. Pollack, a long time Bethel firefighter and Town DPW employee passed on Wednesday, January 16th.

A driving force behind the Danbury Railroad Museum and a local musician, Mr. Pollack, 67 and originally from Brooklyn, New York, has been described as one of Bethel's kindest and hardest working residents.

The Bethel Fire and EMS website said "The members of The Bethel Fire & EMS family are deeply saddened by the loss of Firefighter Ira Pollack. Ira served the Town of Bethel for many years between the Fire Department and Town Highway Department. He will be dearly missed by many. Information on arrangements will be made available."

His obituary is on page 3 of this week's edition.
