Barlow/Bethel tied with Brookfield for third place at the South West Conference boys swimming championships on Wednesday. Pomperaug amassed 533 team points to take first place, followed by Masuk in second in the team standings with 369 points. Barlow/Bethel and Brookfield tied for third place with 298 points each.
Highlights included placing 4th in the Medley Relay, Timmy Joyce placing 2nd and breaking the school record of the 200 Freestyle, Michael Renda placed 4th in the 50 free, 200 Freestyle Relay placing 4th, Timmy Joyce placing 1st in the 500 Freestyle and braking the school record, Matt Canfield placing 5th in the 100 backstroke, and 400 Freestyle Relay placing 2nd.
Barlow/Bethel edged out Newtown by one point, allowing the Barlow/Bethel team to tie Brookfield for third place.
