Spotlight: Jesse Raymond - Branch Manager, People's United Bank

Brad: When did you join People's Bank?

Jesse: I joined People's United Bank in 2012 as a member of one of the Long Island branches in East Meadow, NY.

Brad: What did you do before banking?

Jesse: Prior to joining People's United, I was a sales assistant at UBS in Westport, CT, where I supported four financial advisors and developed many important skills that are integral to my role at People's United.

Brad: What attracted you to banking?

Jesse: It was definitely Retail banking. I truly enjoy being able to help others with their financial needs, both business and personal, and this role gave me the opportunity to do that.

Brad: What do you like most about what you do?

Jesse: Building relationships both inside and outside of the bank with our customers and members of the community. I enjoy the face-to-face interaction and getting to know them on a more personal level. Strong relationships are central to the mission and success of the entire Bank.

Brad: What brought you to Bethel?

Jesse: I moved back to Connecticut about two years ago and have been working here in Bethel ever since.

Brad: What do you like most about Bethel?

Jesse: I love the small town feel that downtown Bethel has, I love the people, the history you see here, and you can't forget about the restaurants!

Brad: What's your funniest customer story?

Jesse: A few customers have come in over the years asking if we are giving away free samples today?

It always gives me a chuckle...

Brad: What should our readers know about you?

Jesse: I'm a married, proud father of three children. I love volunteering and coaching my kids sports teams, and regularly donate blood in support of the local Red Cross. Professionally, it is my goal to listen to each customers' unique needs and offer a tailored approach to deliver the best results possible! I always try to remember, no two customers' needs are the same and neither should our approach be, which is a key differentiator for the Bank.

Brad: What do you like about being a member of the Bethel Chamber of Commerce?

Jesse: Being part of the Chamber has allowed me to meet so many great people within the Bethel community, from business owners to residents. It has also allowed me to stay informed on local and state issues that the area faces.
