Massive Fire
Tremendous Response

Just before 1:30 pm on May 19 Bethel and Stony Hill firefighters were cleaning up a small fire in a utility room at Bethel Middle School when they were called to a commercial structure fire at 21 Francis J. Clarke Circle. Upon arrival they found a serious building fire.

It took crews from 19 area fire departments more than 7 hours to bring the fire under control. Responding departments included Beacon Falls, Brookfield, Danbury, Georgetown, Middlebury, Monroe, Newtown, Prospect, Redding, Ridgefield, Roxbury, Shelton, Southbury, Trumbull, West Redding, Weston and Wolcott.

Three fire fighters were taken to Danbury Hospital for evaluation, but no injuries were reported.
