The Bethel High School cast and crew of Footloose The Musical won the Halo Award for Best Contemporary Muscial last Tuesday.
The annual award honors the best in high school theater in Connecticut.
Freshman Riley Finn, who played the lead, was presented with a special "up and coming" award.
In all, the Bethel show was nominated for 8 Halo's.
This is the first award Bethel has won for a musical at the state-wide awards.
The eight nominations were for Best Running Crew, Best Stage Management, Best Dancing, Best Choreographer (Joe Bagala), Best Chorus, Best Performance By A Supporting Actor (Brian Salvador), Best Performance By A Leading Actor In A Contemporary Musical (Riley Finn) and Best Contemporary Musical.
The Halo's were presented over three days at the Seven Angels Theater in Waterbury.
