OctoberFeast location changed
The Bethel Chamber of Commerce will be hosting its first annual OctoberFeast event at the Stony Hill Preserve, 67 Stony Hill Road from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, October 12th instead of at the Town's Municipal Lawn.
The location may be best known for the weekly Farmers' Market that's held there Saturdays until 1 p.m.
The October Feast was originally planned for the Municipal Lawn, and the October 12th date was set after staff at the Town's Parks and Recreation department initially indicated the date was available for the event.
After an unexpected delay at Town Hall in processing the Chamber's application, time ran out to secure town approval for use of the Municipal Lawn for the event modeled after the Chamber's hugely popular July Beer Fest.
After a careful search, the Chamber staff secured the Stony Hill Preserve location.
"In many ways, the Stony Hill Preserve is likely to be a huge improvement," Chamber President Brad Koltz noted. "The on-site bathrooms, access to the highway and the layout of the property are all huge benefits for us."
October Feast provides beer and wine tastings, cider, live music and food from local restaurants.
"This is a huge opportunity for the Chamber to expand our services to our Stony Hill members," Koltz noted. "We've been looking at ideas on how to approach this, and then this unexpected venue change provided it."
